How Horror Misrepresents Indigenous Culture

Indian burial grounds, ancient curses, spirit guides, and skinwalkers have been in horror for decades but why and what is the effect? The word for this use of Native culture is commonly referred to as “Redsploitation”. In this video I discuss the use of Redsploitation in horror movies and how it affects the way we see Native peoples and cultures.
