[Video] EDGAR ALLAN POE: The Most Mysterious Death

One of the things that I have always wondered was about why more true crime channels don’t cover the mysterious death of Edgar Allen Poe. There are some topics that feel mandatory for true crime channels to cover, the Dyatlov Pass Incident, Ted Bundy’s murders, the killing of JonBenet Ramsey but rarely one of America’s largest mysteries about one of it’s most famous men.

On October 3rd, 1849 Edgar Allen Poe’s semiconscious body was found in Baltimore, Maryland. The writer of gothic classics such as “The Masque of the Red Death” and “The Tell-Tale Heart” had been missing a week before his death. When he was found, he was reportedly, wearing someone else’s clothes and yelling the name “Reynolds”, although the identity of this person has never been found. It has been widely accepted that his manner of death was alcoholism but his actual cause of death remains a mystery. This has fascinated me for so long. How a man like Poe, responsible for so much of the development of gothic, morbid literature became the like the subjects of his own dark tales.

Recently I discovered YouTuber Horses and really enjoyed their video covering Edgar Allen Poe’s mysterious death. I thoroughly enjoy their editing style and the way that they weave the story together.
