Candyman: How Two Movies Expose American Horror

Here is my video on Candyman 1992 vs Candyman 2021, two movies that are in conversation with each other and have a unique point of view of racism in the time period they are in. I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I needed to compare these movies and how they portray Black masculinity, racism, and systemic oppression. I’ve seen other videos and I can’t believe how many of these don’t cover any systemic issues, they just sort of gloss through the historical and societal construct that the story exists in.
